DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE
Narsapur has a population of 58,901 and 15,591 households as per the census 2011 data. Narsapur has a sex ratio of 1,041 females per 1000 males.
Sanitation service levels fall below the prescribed norms and there is a dire need to address the sanitation challenges in an integrated comprehensive manner. The critical issues identified are summarized below:
Lack of infrastructure for CT’s and PT’s and Improper O&M might lead to slippage in the vulnerable spots of the municipality.
Available Toilets do not address gender sensitive requirements.
Regulation and oversight of Onsite sanitation and septage management is absent, leading to wastewater dumping and potential risk of groundwater and surface water pollution.
Absence of treatment facility for solid waste and lack of source segregation leading to ineffective solid waste management.
There is no drainage network system and drains face severe abuse with ‘grey water flows’ and solid waste dumping.

Vulnerability Mapping
A study was conducted by Narsapur Municipal Corporation in the town with ASCI and support of BMGF to map the vulnerable population, with the objective of identifying specific concerns and actions to address the same. This is in line with the city aiming to become inclusive sanitation town
